Finex Destoner is employed for the efficient removal of stones, glass and other high density matter from the grain stream. The destoner is used in mills processing common wheat, durum wheat, corn (maize), rye, rice and soybeans, as well as in specialty mills for oats, buckwheat, barley, spelt and millet.
The throughput capacities vary according to product and degree of contamination.
Material | Throughput Capacity |
---|---|
Common wheat | Up to 22 t/h |
Durum wheat | Up to 14.5 t/h |
Corn (Maize) | Up to 16.5 t/h |
Gravity-fed grain is spread by a feeder, which also acts as an air seal, across the entire width of the machine. On the pre-separation screen, the product stream is stratified by the oscillating motion of the screen and the air flowing through the product from bottom to top according to its specific gravity. The lighter particles float at the top, while the heavy particles, including stones, settle to the bottom of the product stream. The heavy particles flow upward and are fed to the final separation zone of the bottom destoning screen. Final separation of the stones from the grain is accomplished by a counter current of air. The stone-free grain floats on cushions of air toward the product outlet. Discharge occurs through rubber squeeze valves. The sieve box is supported by hollow rubber springs and is caused to oscillate by one or two vibrators depending on machine execution. The inclination of the screens, the air volume and final separation can be individually adjusted to achieve the optimum degree of separation. For capacities below 6 t / h, the machine is applied with a single screen deck.
The Finex Destoner separates stones from a continuous product stream. It reliably removes high-density impurities, such as stones, pieces of metal and glass, based on differences in specific gravity.
